Αίνοι Κυριακής της Πεντηκοστής

Πεντηκοστής- Παράδοξα σήμερον. Θανάσης Δασκαλοθανάσης. Μέλος Χρύσανθου Θεοδοσοπούλου. Οἱ Αἶνοι. Ἦχος δʹ. Lauds. Mode 4. 

Πᾶσα πνοὴ αἰνεσάτω τὸν Κύριον. Αἰνεῖτε τὸν Κύριον ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν· αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς ὑψίστοις. Σοὶ πρέπει ὕμνος τῷ Θεῷ. 

Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. It is fitting to sing a hymn to You, O God. 

Αἰνεῖτε αὐτόν, πάντες οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ· αἰνεῖτε αὐτόν, πᾶσαι αἱ δυνάμεις αὐτοῦ. Σοὶ πρέπει ὕμνος τῷ Θεῷ. 

Praise Him, all you His angels; praise Him, all you His hosts. It is fitting to sing a hymn to You, O God. 

Στιχηρὸν Αʹ. Ἦχος δʹ. Sticheron 1. Mode 4.

 Αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐπὶ ταῖς δυναστείαις αὐτοῦ, αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῆς μεγαλωσύνης αὐτοῦ.

 Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness. 

Παράδοξα σήμερον εἶδον τὰ ἔθνη πάντα ἐν πόλει Δαυΐδ, ὅτε τὸ Πνεῦμα κατῆλθε τὸ ἅγιον ἐν πυρίναις γλώσσαις, καθὼς ὁ θεηγόρος Λουκᾶς ἀπεφθέγξατο. Φησὶ γάρ· Συνηγμένων τῶν Μαθητῶν τοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἐγένετο ἦχος καθάπερ φερομένης βιαίας πνοῆς, καὶ ἐπλήρωσε τὸν οἶκον, οὗ ἦσαν καθήμενοι, καὶ πάντες ἤρξαντο φθέγγεσθαι, ξένοις ῥήμασι, ξένοις δόγμασι, ξένοις διδάγμασι, τῆς ἁγίας Τριάδος.

Today, all the nations in the city of David saw paradoxical things, when the Holy Spirit descended in fiery tongues, according to the utterance of Luke the theologian. For he said, when the Disciples of Christ were gathered together, a sound came like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And they all began to speak with strange words, strange dogmas, strange teachings of the Holy Trinity. 

Στιχηρὸν Βʹ. Ἦχος δʹ. 

Sticheron 2. Mode 4. 

Αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν ἤχῳ σάλπιγγος, αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν ψαλτηρίῳ καὶ κιθάρᾳ. Praise Him with the sound of trumpet; praise Him with the harp and lyre. Παράδοξα σήμερον εἶδον τὰ ἔθνη πάντα ἐν πόλει Δαυΐδ, ὅτε τὸ Πνεῦμα κατῆλθε τὸ ἅγιον ἐν πυρίναις γλώσσαις, καθὼς ὁ θεηγόρος Λουκᾶς ἀπεφθέγξατο. Αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν τυμπάνῳ καὶ χορῷ, αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν χορδαῖς καὶ ὀργάνῳ. Praise Him with timbrel and dance; praise Him with strings and flute. Τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, ἦν μὲν ἀεί, καὶ ἔστι καὶ ἔσται, οὕτε ἀρξάμενον, οὔτε παυσόμενον, ἀλλ' ἀεὶ Πατρὶ καὶ Υἱῷ συντεταγμένον, καὶ συναριθμούμενον; ζωή, καὶ ζωοποιοῦν, φῶς, καὶ φωτὸς χορηγόν; αὐτάγαθον, καὶ πηγὴ ἀγαθότητος· δι' οὗ Πατὴρ γνωρίζεται, καὶ Υἱὸς δοξάζεται, καὶ παρὰ πάντων γινώσκεται, μία δύναμις, μία σύνταξις, μία προσκύνησις, τῆς ἁγίας Τριάδος. 

 The Holy Spirit forever was, and is and will be, never beginning, never ending, but forever ranked and numbered with the Father and the Son. It is life and life-giving, light and giver of light; goodness itself and the source of goodness; through whom the Father is known and the Son is glorified, and by all is known the one power, one order, one worship of the Holy Trinity.

Sticheron 4. Mode 4. 

Αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν κυμβάλοις εὐήχοις, αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν κυμβάλοις ἀλαλαγμοῦ. Πᾶσα πνοὴ αἰνεσάτω τὸν Κύριον. Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with triumphant cymbals; let everything that breathes praise the Lord. [SAAS] Τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, φῶς, καὶ ζωή, καὶ ζῶσα πηγὴ νοερά, Πνεῦμα σοφίας, Πνεῦμα συνέσεως, ἀγαθόν, εὐθές, νοερόν, ἡγεμονεῦον καθαῖρον τὰ πταίσματα, Θεὸς καὶ θεοποιοῦν, πῦρ, ἐκ πυρὸς προϊόν, λαλοῦν, ἐνεργοῦν, διαιροῦν τὰ χαρίσματα· δι' οὗ Προφῆται ἅπαντες, καὶ Θεοῦ Ἀπόστολοι, μετὰ Μαρτύρων ἐστέφθησαν. Ξένον ἄκουσμα, ξένον θέαμα, πῦρ διαιρούμενον εἰς νομὰς χαρισμάτων. 

The Holy Spirit is light and life, and a living noetic fount. Spirit of wisdom, Spirit of understanding; good, upright, noetic, ruling, purging offences; God and deifying; He is fire issuing from fire, uttering, inciting, distributing the gifts of grace. Through Him the Prophets and the Apostles of God and the Martyrs all were crowned. Strange to hear, strange to see, fire distributed for the apportioning of gifts.
